In fact, it serves pretty much the same purpose of the first film, as it presents the exact same message of looking past a person's outward appearance. 'Hotel Transylvania 2' isn't all that different from its predecessor. Still, it did at least have a message about being accepting of one another and, more importantly to Sony Pictures, was a financial success.
